Hi.I just wanted to let you know that the makers of the patch are in law suits right now.Women have died from using the patch.I heard this on the news.I am on the depo but I am not happy with it.Because of my heart problems and my recent battle with cervical cancer and carsonoma leisions depo is the only birth control I can take.It has messed me up alot.Is makes me bleed after intercourse and basically I just bleed all the time.I have gained from 120 pounds to 138 in just a little over a year. The nuva ring is good.I loved it alot! But I can't use it.I have used birth control pills, lunelle, depo provera, nuva ring, and the patch.Maybe some others I can't think of right now.Nuva ring is my favorite. If I had a choice I would choose nuva ring.I hope this helps!

Oh yeah I would go on the nuva ring!!! I've also been on alot of different kinds of birth control. But this one I love, you insert in vaginally for three weeks and one week without. You just put it in and forget about it.
I've also been on the patch, but I didn't stay on it... one its not safe and two it just won't stick very good, a sweat and it came off and three the sticky part was so itchy I couldn't stand it. A couple of my friends have gone on depo (the shot) and hated it or have gotten pregnant.
If you are worried about weight gain, tell your doctor because they're pill out there that will help you will that.
but i recommend the nuva ring!

i'm using the patch right now, never had any problems with it. just might want to move it around every week or your skin can get irritated if you replace it in the same area. i have trouble taking pills and i'm not too crazy about that idea of putting something inside of me, so i chose the patch. i can imagine that any type of birth control can give you some side effects.

i am on Loestrin24, ive had very min. side effects from it..i havent gained weight, but the only reason you gain weight on BC is because it increases you apptiete so if your good at not over eating then i would def recommend the pill! and it is all the same hormone throughout the month, which will help with emotional part of it! And as for remembering to take the pill, HELLO didnt anyone ever hear of setting an alarm on your cell!! i keep mine on a daily setting so it goes off at the same time every day!! its so easy and i dont have to remember!!

I've been on the depo for 5 years and would never think of switching. It is the most effective form of bc on the market and you only have to get a shot once every 90 days! That is awesome! I didn't gain any weight, don't have any side effects and the best thing is - I don't get a regular period! An occasional spotting, but very rare...
Of course everyone's body is different and will react differently to any medication they take, but I recommend the depo... you can always try it and see what happens.

okay so yesterday...my doctor told me i should get off the patch because it increases blood by 60% or something like that, so you have a higher chance of getting blod clots. -_- BLEHH!!! okay i used to prefer the patch because i have a hard time with pills so that was the best thing for me when it came out. anyway....so i'm going to get off that and she convinced me to try the nuva ring, so i got a free sample. haven't tried it yet though because i'm still finishing up the rest of my patches.
the blood increase has to do with the weight gain...also the patch puts WAY more hormones into your body than any other BC method. my doctor said that pills and the patch both give you stronger doses of hormones and everything when your first take it/stick it on. as compared to the nuva ring, where it more consistantly releases into your body over the 3 week period of time.
