I've been on all kinds of birthcontrols since I was 16, I'm now 21 and I was taking Yaz for 6 months. After being on Yaz for about 4 months I really started to noticed the weight gain which lead to depression along with extreme mood swings, headaches and dry eyes around the time I needed to take my pill, and fainting associated with anxiety. The only positive things about taking Yaz, was it really helped with the bloating and cramps and my flow only lasted about 3 days max, and I had sliky smooth skin. What finally pushed me to stop Yaz was around the 5th month I had a very intense anxiety attack with caused me to black out and faint, not only did this happen once but twice in the same month. So I avoided large crowds and loud music, that helped but I was still having the anxiety attacks at least once every 2 weeks just doing everyday things. I told my OBGYN what I have experiencing and he did not believe it was Yaz and he referred me to a physician and told me to STAY ON THE PILL. I saw the physician once and quit the pill the next day. Since being off Yaz (5 months) I've only had 1 anxiety attack. My face is terrible, my periods are killing me, and I'm just in a bind about Yaz. It was the only birth control that really HELPED ME but the side effects may not be worth it. I would like to give Yaz one more shot. At least now I know what could happen and hopefully try to avoid the previous problems. I dont know if I would recommend Yaz to anyone with the problems that are associated. I believe the the relief from my cycle Yaz has it worth it to me.

I am so glad I'm not alone in worrying about taking yaz. I have been taking it for the last 2 year now but only consistantly for the last 10 months. Last September I started taking it again after 2 months off and two weeks into the pill packet I had a panic attack and passed out, and the doctors said it was from dehydration. I started it again after my next period came around and it seemed to be working great. I had super short periods, little bleeding, and I didnt feel crazy before my period started.
However the last 3 months I have really been struggling with anxiety and panic attacks and I passed out again. I have also started to get random spasms in my legs, not often or very painful but is still concerns me.
Im just wondering if there is anyone else in my situation? what did you start taking after you stopped yaz?

Default Dangers of Yaz Birth Control

Please read about new developments with Yaz birth control and FDA warnings. I have taken the drug and was doing well on it but decided that there has not been enough testing for long terms of use and evaluation of high risk side effects.
