I have been on the pills but I started a different brand the end of December or early January bc the other brand causes irregular bleeding. But anyhoo....I started the new pill after a few days with maybe a few days with on no pills. I have had sex without a condom but because I am on the pill I should be safe. But now a few weeks later I start have spotting which seems to lead to a cycle? I have read that you can still get pregnant on the pill if you start a new brand within 5 or 2 weeks of unprotected sex. Confusing!
    Thanks

The pill is not 100% effective to begin with. It only decreases your chances significantly. So in reality, you can get pregnant at any time. Switching birth control may or may not increase those chances. It really depends on the differences in the two birth controls, how long you waited, and how your body reacts to them. There is no way to be 100% certain... ever... that you won't get pregnant.

As for the spotting, keep in mind that it can take several months for your cycle to balance out and become regular (if it does). Birth control does not always make every woman regular. Give it some time though and see how it goes.
