I have been on birth control for two years. I started out with femmecon... which at the time I thought was bad, but I didn't know it would be as bad as Yaz (which I am on now). After a few months, I switched to Yasmin which was okay, since I had started birth control I have been feeling very moody and emotional without knowing why. I did lose some weight on Yasmin. I then switched again last year to Yaz and I have been on Yaz for a year now. I guess I never got around to changing it but since I have found out all this bad stuff about it, the blood clots - it is making me want to change it. However, I have no idea to which brand! I feel like every time I change my birth control to another, it gets worse and I wish I never changed it! Yaz is the worst so far, I feel like I am going absolutely crazy, and gaining weight? Even when I take the time to work out for a few hours. Back in May I lost a significant amount of weight for some reason but I quickly started gaining back all the weight, this is a little depressing. The main reason why I want to switch it is because of all the bad things I have been hearing about it (health wise) the blood clots, and knowing people who have had bad results due to Yaz does not help.

So, does anyone know a birth control that will not drive a woman crazy or make her feel bloated 24/7 ?? I am going to change it very soon, and I have no idea where to look.

When I was on the pill, I ended up changing brands for various reasons quite a few times. At first it was because of cost, and then finally it started to make my hair fall out, and I thought changing brands would help. Aaand it didn't. I ended up going off of it completely, and luckily after a few months my body began to recover in full.

I would highly, highly recommend a copper IUD. No worries about remembering to take a pill, VERY cheap in the long run, and NO hormones.

I've always used spermicide and condoms. They have always worked well. (knock on wood)
