    Hello,
I have been on Loestrin24 since october and had irregular bleeding for the first 3 months. This past month was my 4th month and i did not have any irreuglar periods happen, but i forgot to take the inactive pills and never got my period. I did get a light brownish discharge, but it was very little.

Is this normal? And should i be concerned about being pregnant? i did have unprotected sex before and during the inactive pill time. And i started taking my new pack this sunday, should i have skipped this month or can i continue taking it?

Brown discharge is actually your menstrual cycle. Blood turns a brown color as it ages and then mixes with your normal every day discharge. Nothing to be alarmed about there.

As for your irregular cycle, it could be due to many things. Usually it's because of stress or illness and you just need to give it time to calm down. Try to cut down on the stress. Or, it could be your hormones are fluctuating. That could be normal or abnormal. Only way to know about that is to get a hormone test.

Taking birth control is not a gaurantee that your cycles will always be regular. Missing doses will throw off your cycle. Continue taking the birth control as instructed and do not skip around based on what your cycle is doing. That will only mess it up even more. Keep following the doctors instructions.

You most likely just need to give your cycle time to become normal again. If it doesn't, you may need to try a different brand or dose of birth control.
