    Default Paragard (copper) IUD

    Hello,

I recently had a copper IUD removed. My body expelled the device after 3 months. I've never had a pregnancy and was told my chances of expelling another IUD has gone up 20-30%. I do not want children, but am not ready for complete sterilization either. Should I bother getting another IUD (it was EXTREMELY painful to insert) and wage the chances of it being expelled again?

    Thank you.

I think most people who expel it have it inserted again.

As for the pain, did you take any pain killers or anything beforehand?

Depends on the woman. On the whole it's nothing too bad.
