Thread: Waiting a couple days between placebo and new pack

Is there a risk of waiting a few days after taking your placebo pills before starting your next pack of active pills?

Say, for instance, I take my placebo pills for 7 days and then I wait an additional 3 days before I begin my next pack. Will the pill still be effective in preventing pregnancy (maybe after seven days?), or is it like when beginning the pill for the first time not on your cycle -- that is, would i have to wait a whole pack like this before it is effective without a backup method again.

missing three pills in a row no matter where in your cycle (first week, second week etc.) is a bad idea and you could become pregnent. if you miss 3 days in a row or even 2 i would start taking it regualarly again and use back up for at least a week
