Thread: breakthrough bleeding... more serious?

Hello,

I have been on and off a couple different types of birth control over the past few months (on the patch for a year, off the patch for 3 months, on the ring for a month, and then back on the patch) and I have never had breakthrough bleeding before... but now, in my first month back on the patch, I'm having it, and I'm experiencing some cramping along with it. I'm hoping it is just the birth control, but it seems odd that I've never had this problem before. Does anyone know of any symptoms to look for in case there is something else/more serious going on?

My best guess is that is is just the birth control and your body adjusting to it. Just to be on safe side contact your doctor.
