That is correct. Once you introduce synthetic hormones into the body you body will get used to 'seeing' them there, once you remove them by stopping BCP your body will still think they are there for a period of time. No real reason to worry.I've read online that it can take several months for your body to adjust to getting off the hormones and kick back in with your normal period, so I'm not terribly concerned about that.
Like previously said, once you have the BCP in you it will take a period of time to get them completely out. Maybe a month or two, I am not quite sure. Your period will probably come out of nowhere for the first month or so, try not to worry because at some point it will be back. The part about sex drive never coming back is completely false, people doing fear mongering because they may not approve of birth control in the first place...simply do not listen to things like that. The BCP will affect each woman differently when it comes to sex drive, personally I am on Tri-Cyclen and if anything my drive went up. Just wait it out, your body is still in the transition stage of coming off the pill.I guess more than I was hoping to get my period right away, I was hoping to get my sex drive back right away. Since I've been on Ortho, I can't remember having any sex drive, and I've read on several other forums that sometimes being on BCP long-term kills your sex drive and it NEVER comes back.

It took quite a while for my hair to get back to normal afterwards.
