Hello , I was wondering if anyone could tell me how much blood is "normal" for spotting. I always had the impression that spotting was a small amount of blood which could be handled by a pantyliner or a light pad.

After an incident and on the advice of a pharmacist I took the EC pill. I have already read many sites on the side effects of the EC pill, in addition to having the pharmacist explain them to me, so I was aware there may be some spotting a few days after taking the pill and that my period may be slightly early or late.

(Warning this might get graphic! ) About 5 days after taking the pill I noticed a little blood on my panties the next day it progressed into what looked like the start of what I normally get with my period. It's been about three days of this already so I'm wondering if this is normal. It's not just blood but sometimes thicker with what appears to be some shedding of the uterus.

As for my period being early, I took the pill the day after my period ended. Is it possible the pill threw my system off so much that I'm actually getting my period less than a week after the last one ended? Or should I still expect it to arrive as normal later on? Is the amount of bleeding I'm getting normal? I'm not entirely worried which makes me wonder if I should be worried.

PS: I'm sorry for all the details, I just wasn't sure how else to explain my situation. The descriptions of spotting I've found seem to be much less than what I'm getting.
