Hi!

Just wondering if anyone can give any advice and re-assurance!

I've been on Yasmin for quite a while now and my boyfriend and I have always used condoms as well, there's always that feeling at the back of my mind I will still fall pregnant on the pill. My boyfriend is particualry paranoid.

Only problem is I find condoms always give me a painful burning feeling afterwards. I've put up with till now, but I can't use them any longer. The latex free do help, but I still get the feeling. It must be an allergic reaction.

I take the pill correctly and we've never had any problems. I'm just finding it annoying that we are worried about falling pregant if he comes inside me. Surely if I'm on the pill it's fine?

Yes, if you are on the pill and taking it as directed, you will be fine. Now, don't get me wrong, there is the freak occurrence, but given the statistics and how many people that are on the pill, it is rare.

Some of us just can't handle condoms, no matter what we try. You and I are not the only ones, there's others on the board too. They irritate me, I can't get wet with them, etc. There are other forms of back up should you decide to use them, but really, with the pill, you are fine.

I was on the pill for 10+ years and never used another form for backup. I got pregnant when I intended to by getting off the pill.

I was on the pill for 15yrs with no back-up and no condoms. Husband always came inside me. If you use BC pills correctly, you should be fine. Last year I switched from BC pills to an IUD.
