    Default Blood Clots?

I've been using Ortho Evra birth control patch for over a year now, and I talked with a woman at Planned Parenthood and we decided I would put it on the outside of my thigh we're it won't see too much movement.

I always put it on a different leg every other week, because I am aware of the serious side effects. I'm 17, don't smoke but not too active. I also only weigh between 110-113lbs and I'm almost 5"5. I was told because of my age that I don't really need to worry about things like blood clots.

However, I was side tracked studying for final exams and put my patch on the same leg I had it on last week. After a few hours I felt like a needle was poking me under the patch. I immediately took it off, and I'm scared I'm getting a blood clot.

My knee and sometimes my calf have the sensation of almost a growing pain... But while I took exams today I didn't notice it- maybe it's all in my head? We don't really have the money to see a doctor, so I'd like opinions before I worry my mother.

Do you think this is serious?
    Sincerely, CamilleDawn

Those are nerves firing, not blood clots. Blood clots often are associated with intense pain, like falling on the floor needing medical assistance pain.

Do you think this is serious?
    Not likely

But while I took exams today I didn't notice it- maybe it's all in my head?
There is a good chance since you heard of happening and suddenly feel some pain so you could be making a casual assumption when if nothing serious is actually happening.
There are those who believe that dictionaries should not merely reflect the times but also protect English from the mindless assaults of the trendy.

I do have Factor 5 Leiden. I've made another post on this subject of birth control and blood clotting disorder. I am hoping to get some responses. i was diagnosed at 16. I've been using condoms and spermicide gel. I sawalot of questions and some issues about the copper IUD. I'd like to get it implanted but kidna nervous about it. Wonder whether it will work or not.
