Thread: Unsure about Essure

I decided to post this to see what everyone else thinks. I had the Essure procedure done in January 2007. In March of 2007, everything showed that the inserts were working properly. I haven't had a thought about them until recently. For about a week now, I have been VERY tired. No matter how much sleep I get, I am exhausted in the afternoon. I almost fell asleep twice last week driving home from work. Also, I have had a metallic taste in my mouth off and on. My breasts have felt sore (off and on), and I feel bloated. The other symptom that I keep having is that "my period is going to start any minute" feeling. I have been very regular since the procedure, with my period every 26 days. I should start on January 31st, but I am just not sure. Any ideas or similar stories?

I had a pretty positive experience. I had mine put in Sept 17, 2009. It was uncomfortable but I expected that. I did a lot of research not just on the procedure but on my doctor. I was looking into it for over five years. I know there are possible risks but there are even more risks with standard tubals. I had a severe fear of pregnancy and it was so bad I couldn't even go near my pregnant friends or newborns. It was either do something about it or live in misery so I looked into my options and decided essure was the best option. I'm not sure what could be causing the changes you are experience. I know the eggs released are absorbed into the body. I don't know if maybe that has something to do with it.
