    Default Period on Honeymoon????

    Hi There,

So as of right now I am supposed to have my period starting the day of my honeymoon... Now this isn't till June. My question is, i have been on the pill for almost 5 years and we don't use condoms... is there any safe way i can make it so i don't have my period that week and we will still be protected? Even if we have to use condoms that fine but how do i even make it that i don't have my period, i'm afraid that since i've been on it for so long it'll mess up my body or cycle or something.

    Any advice?

    KA

Skip the 'off week' pills and just start a new pack and you shouldn't have it. You may want to try it a month before so your body can adjust.

What are you on? If your pills are combination ones (most people are on those) you can just skip your period. Don't take the pills that would cause it. Usually that's the last week but a few brands only have 5 inactive pills. Nothing bad will happen, you'll get your period like normal the end of the next pack instead, and you'll still be completely covered by the birth control. If your pills are progesterone only or a very low dose pill it might not work and you would need to switch to something else for a few months if you wanted to skip your period.
