Expect to feel 1000X better. ...at least that was my experience. I never realized how terrible I felt the whole time I was on the pill until I went off. And actually, since going off, my periods have gotten much better.

I can't say that will be your experience, you'll just have to give it several months and see how it goes.

Wow....I'd wonder about that myself. I've been on the pill since I was 24 years old (on it for 18 years).

I'm regular, light periods, and I don't have any issues at all. So I'm not necessarily concerned about stopping them. I'm just wondering how this will affect going into menapause and being on the pill for this long? My doctor says it won't hurt anything being on it for so long....

Wow, 20 years?! Were there any breaks in between at some point? I've been on the pill for 7 years (well maybe more like 4-5 since I took a 2-3 year long break). Let's just say I got back on it after my 3 year hiatus because my periods went back to how they used to be (horrific!!). I dont know if my age or any other factors had anything to do with my period going back to how it used to be before the pill.

Something else Ive always wanted to know: do u have children? if so, was it harder for you to get pregnant because u were on the pill? That's the one thing I am really concerned about as far as birth control pills go....
