This is my first month ever using the pill and its just occured to me that i never asked my doctor about the 'period' i'll get. Yaz only has 4 sugar pills within a pack, so when should i get my 'period'? Today was the 2nd out of the 4 and nothing has happened...my friend is on yasmin, 7 sugar pills, but she normally doesnt start her period until day 4? Im so confused

The only way you can figure out is continue taking the pills and it will happen sooner or later. Usually within the first 3 months of taking any birth control pills your body is still getting used to it, so you may not be regular yet, or experience spotting etc.

I am on Yasmin and it usually starts about day 4 or 5. I tried Yaz for a couple months and it usually started about day 4 and then my period continued through about day two of the normal pills.

Good luck. Will probably just take a little time to adjust.

Everyone's period is different even when they are on the pill. Its possible for you to hardly have a period at first. It takes some time for your body to adjust. Just take your pills like you are suppose to, that's the most important part. eventually your body will get the idea and you'll be fine!

When I was on Yaz for a brief time, mine would start between the 2nd and 3rd placebo pills. I would take mine at night, so I would get it sometime during the day before I took the 3rd one.

Yaz didn't make my periods shorter. They were actually longer by about 2 days each month, but slightly lighter. I feel like I bled the same, just over an extended period. I would usually bleed all the way up until the 4th or 5th active pill of the next month. I'm off it now, thankfully. Everyone is different though.

Though it's not a 'true period', it's an actual 'withdrawal bleed' from the medicine, when I took a break from taking it continuously (cause I was curious myself.) I would bleed on the 4th day and go to like the next two active pills.

The first month I was on it, I spotted a bit, but then by the second month I was good to go. Glad I waited till I was on the bc pill for awhile...

When i was on yaz my "period" would only start after i finished the sugar pills and lasted about 2-3 days. It seems to work different for everyone. Also note with Yaz that its not uncommon for you to miss your period for the first month.

When I was on Yaz, I got my withdrawal bleed starting day 2-3 of the sugar pills. Was that way on pretty much every oral contraceptive I tried. But like several people have said, everyone's different. You'll know in a couple months how your body reacts to the withdrawal from the hormones! It's a waiting game.
