Default Bad mood on birth control?

I've been on Loestrin 24 Fe for 4 months now, and for the last 2 weeks I have been in the worst mood.

For instance, last night I yelled at my boyfriend for not shaving (we are long distance right now so this was over video chat). I don't know why but it made me so angry, I called him vulva-face, haha....This is very unlike me. I felt bad later and apologized. Then he called me in the middle of the night to tell me he loved me like he does sometimes, and I asked why the he thought it was ok to wake me up and I told him to shut up and leave me alone! I felt so bad when I woke up this morning. Good thing he is a patient guy...

My mood changes so quickly and I get angry over the tiniest things. This rarely happened before I was on the pill. Can I "blame" this on hormones?? Will it stop??

I took Loestrin for a few years and once I was off it I realized how terrible I was feeling that whole time. The littlest thing would set me off, I was tired, gained weight, no sex drive.

Maybe give it a few months and monitor your moods and if it's still a problem, see if you can switch to something else.

Well I haven't gained weight, I'm tired because I'm in grad school (didn't get worse when I started the pill), and my libido is great. I'm hesitant to switch because I haven't had any side effects except my Jekyll and Hyde moods...and I'm not even sure that I can blame it on the pill. Maybe I should keep a mood journal for a few months so I can objectively look at it to see if there is a pattern.

I think the mood journal is a great idea.

Month 4 day 24/25: (insert 5-letter word that is not allowed on the board describing my disposition).
