Default Taking pill hours in advance

    Hi, everyone

Glad to have found this community. I have a sort of an emergency question.

I take my birth control pill every night after dinner. This morning, I accidentally popped one after breakfast, in place of the multivitamin tablet I take at that time.

Now, should I still take another birth-control pill tonight? Or shall I only take it tomorrow, at the regular time?

All help is appreciated! Thank you all in advance.

As far as my Doctor has stated to me, never double up.

You took one in the morning, don't take one tonight, take it tomorrow night and continue your usual pattern.. You've still taken the pill and a few hours isn't here or there.

I would think the safest solution would be to now take your pill in the morning and slowly move it to evening again if you need to. However it's really unlikely to matter. People miss an entire pill quite frequently and don't have any problems. Particularly if you've been taking pills for several months. It will take your body more than 1 missed pill or taking 1 pill several hours later than the last to make it take over again and cycle. More commonly if anything does go wrong from missing pills it's just that you get spotting for a few days because bleeding while on birth control is a result of withdrawal from the hormones not your body going through it's normal menstrual cycle.
