Hey everyone, new to the forums

Anyway, I started my new pack of pill 14days ago without a break from the previous pack (Im on Dianette) and on the 2nd day of my current pack I noticed I started bleeding (well I say bleeding, it wasn't as heavy as my usual period) this lasted for a few days and now I'm constantly spotting brown discharge which has been happening for 2 weeks now when will it eventually stop, so frustrating.

I have another 7 pills to take before I finish the pack but really don't want another period again

Are you saying that you skipped the placebo (sugar pills for period time) pills? If you skipped them to avoid a period, that could be causing your spotting.

If you did not skip placebo pills, how long have you been on this pill?

Sounds like you're "spotting" not actually having a period. It's no fun, but unfortunately a side effect of many birth control pills. Usually, if you're new to a pill if you give it 3 months it levels out. If it doesn't, then its typically not the right pill for you and you may need to switch.

I recently stopped taking the pill, because I never seemed to find one that was right for me.

    Good luck.

    Hi,

Breakthrough bleeding is a lot more common when you piggyback your pill packs together especially if it's a triphasic (many colors in your pill pack) pill. I know this seems like a pain but you should finish off your pack and take the placebos this month. When I had unexpected spotting like that I did that and it seemed to stop. Start up a new pack and see if the problem persists. If not, then it may just be from the hormonal difference. If it continues though for some time, you may want to see an OB/GYN.

Just my thoughts though, not a doctor.
    Good luck!

Thanks guys, my pill doesn't have the placebo pills but if it was to have them then yeah I'd have skipped them because the same happened last month and didn't want to be "bleeding" again.

I knew spotting was to be expected but didn't know it could last this long (15 days now )

I'm off to see the doc later on and shall see what he says but unfortunately he can't make it stop

    Thanks for the advice

    yeah it comes and goes.
its a problem with the pill.
if you dont like the bleeding at all and *you get on well with hormones*
and do not have manic depression like i do
then you should maybe think about something like the mirena coil (ius)
i had no periods on it, no spotting, no bleeding or cramping or any of it.
it can cause moodswings which is why i didnt work out for me
but if you dont have any of those problems then i would seriously think about that as an option.
also it lasts up to five years and you dont have to remember to take pills!
