you can have it removed at *any* point.
they can remove it a couple of hours after having it put in if necessary.

My big question is though, now that I see this happens. Is it safe to have it removed this soon?

'so why care for these petty obsessions? your designer heart still beats with common blood. and what if you could have genetic perfection? would you change who you are if you could?'
Hey!
I did my best to skim through your message and the replies, sorry if I didn't catch something... it's early here...
You mentioned being worried about accidentally getting pregnant on the IUD.. The chances of that happening are as low as on the hormonal pill, if not LOWER, as you never have to worry about using it wrong or being sick one day and the pills not working, etc.
Yes the first few weeks, for some even the first few months, can be pretty rough with the IUD. If I were you, I would give it a full month before deciding to remove it, because it's a much safer and healthier option than continuing to be on the pill for years to come.I do understand your frustration with this affecting your time with your daughter, though.
If you do get it removed (and yes as someone else said, it can be done at ANY time), I'd recommend looking into using the diaphragm or cervical cap, two other excellent non-hormonal methods which I didn't even really know about until reading about them on this forum.
I'm just interested in going back to the pill. A form of birth control I trust.
