    Question Methods

Honestly, I am realizing that I am almost completely oblivious to what's out there. Of course, like everyone, I had sex-ed in school where they told us about the different methods, but I think that until now they remained in the theoretical sphere along with Global Warming. Now however it seems that I have to make a decision and I'm not even sure what my options are.

What I am trying to say is that I would like to know
    1) what methods of birth control are there
    2) pro's and con's of the different methods

If ya just want an overview of methods, do some research on solid source internet sites. The u s c d c has a great site - easy to use and very trustworthy info. Also planned parenthood, and usually state health depts.

Sift thru that stuff and then, before jumpint into anything, see your doc to discuss what's good choices for you personally.
b.c. has changed a lot in the past years. Guess you could divide methods into: hormonal (works inside you - the pill, ring, implant etc) ; physical barriers (condoms, cervical cap, diaphram) and 'natural' ( timing sex activities with your body's cycle so you only have the lil wigglers in there when youre not fertile) This last is doable, but requires a high level of discipline and structure and knowledge.

Check the planned parenthood site. I actually learned a few things myself. I myself always made my partner wear condoms and I also used the inserts except with my current boyfriend starting out because they actually caused burning on him. Now I got the essure coils so I don't have to use them anymore. But there are a quite a few methods including the nuvaring, shots, pills, patches, IUD, sponge, cervical cap, diaphram, female condom, male condom, withdrawl, sterilization, spermicide, breast feeding (never knew about this one), outercourse, FAM's, and Implanon.
