    Hi.

I just got my copper IUD yesterday. I haven't had any kids so it was beyond painful.
The most discerning thing is that I can't feel my threads. I thought maybe my fingers were too short so I went so far as to enlist the help of my wonderful boyfriend. Kind of grose, but I'm really worried. He couldn't feel anything either.

Does anyone have any advise? Is it normal to not feel them right away? I thought maybe it's because I'm still a little swollen and inflamed, but I don't know because I'm new to this whole thing. Thanks for any help or advise.

if you're still inflamed its likely that you're just not feeling them.
didnt the nurse or whoever put it in show you how to feel for them?

my advice is to give it a few days to let any swelling go down
    and then try again
you have to feel pretty high up
and because the strings are so little you can quite easily miss them
but bascially just prod around up there and it'll feel like little line
kind of flush with the, i cant think of the right word
but the little bump at the top?

if you really cant feel them then i suggest you go to an STI clinic or back to the doctors and ask them to show you how to do it.

    good luck x
