    Default Advice about implant needed

    Hello everyone,

I have had the implant in for two months. This is my second and I had the first removed after 9 months of constant bleeding. Well the same is happening again but worse as i have a few health problems now which it is really affecting. They did put me on the pill but this did nothing to my bleeding or symptoms.

I am trying to work out whether to get it removed or not. I have had two coils fall out, injection makes me bleed heavy and i cant take the pill as i suffer from re occuring diarrhoea ( possible crohns disease) so my options are very limited. I asked to be sterilised but because of my age they will not do it.

I dont know what to do or where to go. I have terrible periods as it is and nothing as ever been done about them then they put the implant in which means i have a constant period for 8 weeks I am physically drained and emotionally very fragile. The relationship between me and my husband is suffering as i have no sex drive and my emotions are all over the place, i am suffering with constant back ache, period pains and got a lot of headaches since having it put in.

Anyone with any advice please reply as need a little help.

    Thanks

    Jenny

    Do you mean... the Implanon?

Why did you get it inserted a second time if the first time proved to be a failure?

Also if I may ask, how is the diarrhea related to birth control pills? Do pills actually make it worse? What if you took the proper medication and made various dietary changes, would that help?

I'm looking into a non-hormonal birth control option myself as the copper coil unfortunately failed for me, and the pill causes me a particularly unwanted side effect. I'm hoping to get a cervical cap. Have you looked into that as an option?

Yes i do mean the implanon.

I agree to have in again as the Dr promised me the birth control pill would sort out any bleeding. I am supposed to take the pill for three months solid to sort the bleeding out, however it done nothing for the bleeding at all and even tho i have taken to pill everyday i still had a normal period last week it was heavier and more painful than normal.

I don't like taking the pill as i suffer from frequent bouts of sickness and diarrhoea meaning that its not as effective as it should be. As my husband and i are decided not to have any more children i dont want to rely on something that may fail. I know all birth control methods are not 100% effective but i know my problems before hand and dont want to risk it.

I am lost now, very peed off and frustrated. I was told that the coil would not fall out the second time and it did! then i was told they could stop my bleeding with the implant and again its not happened.

I just wish they would look into my period problems too as they are really bad

    Thanks for your reply

    Jenny
