Hey ther, first thread and hello to you all.
My name is Samantha Tallon i am 25 and before you say wow lol, i have four kids, two concieved whilst on the pill, taking it perfectly never forgot a day may i add. And the other two was stupidity as i was really young and live in irish deeproot country, where sex believe it or not is still a tad taboo, but they are my little darlings now, they make my day and couldnt have asked for better behaved kids. Anyway, onto my problem.

I have had the implnanon for over a year, and i like it, its safe and you dont have to worry, but it may not be meant for me. My doctor is really unsupportive and is saying i have not given the implanon a fair chance. aside from the fact that i am up three dress sizes and irregular periods, headaches nausea and all. lol, as well as having irritable bowel asthma and anaemia to deal with, and the four little buggers that run my feet off

I have tried changing doctors over this new problem i have.

My periods were fine up until a month ago, i was dissapointed as the implanon did not stop my periods, in fact made a tad bit heavier and bedridden with the pain, but pop a painkiller and i could plough on.the pain is almost as bad as the same as stage one of labour i would say. but this month, no bleeding, but a discharge with bits in it, not bloody, just pink, the sanitary towel is collecting all this yukky stuff and apart from being grossed out its the pain thats annoying me. I am cramping those lovely extreme period pains. I would do something about it today, but guess what its a bank holiday here in ireland, and no doctors open till tomorrow, the hospital is an hour away and i dont think its serious enough to take up a and e time. Taken some ibuprofen, and trying to relax. I dont think i am pregnant as it is highly unlikely on this thing. But am really tearful and fretful, as my hot water bottle just sprung a leak and it was like the end of the world lol. Sorry for posting, just feel a tad bit lonely, my partner is working and my brother keeps me company today, but its not like i canhave a coffee and talk to him about it! Anyone had similar expieriences? my doctors keep brushin me off, and i cant get another doctor in town to take me, i must have disaster written on my forehead.

Oh and my pain barrier is pretty high, i didnt cry during labout till the pushing part, lots of panting and swearing did it for me. lol

    Thanks

Wow, just read this.. I cant say that I have ever heard about your problem whilst on the implanon, I am not too bad, just bad sharp cramping but no period. I can not understand why your doctors will not think you are serious, I'd suggest again another doctor which you said you have tried and getting the brush off, or keep pushing the issue and hopefully they'll cave in if you go every time you get the pain.

Doctors brushed off my issue with getting thrush all the time as I am overweight (which I am a size 12-14 and about 78Kg) the reason why my weight is high is because I am going to gym to tone up and to loose weight, well its mainly muscle, however I have measured around my waist and I am at the recommended weight circumference they recommended (88cms) and or I am low in iron. I kept pushing and went to another gyno as I felt the other one I was seeing was not helping and was waisting my time and money on sending me to every doctor to work out why as well as why am I getting Strep B infections all the time, which I have been told is normal.

Bottom line is dont stand for it anymore, you are obviously in pain and push for something to happen. I hope that you can get what you want and have it taken out.

Oh, I can sympathize with you! I conceived my daughter while on the pill also. After her birth I decided to try the Implanon, BIG MISTAKE! Long story short, I gained 30 pounds, had depression and mood swings, and had a constant HEAVY period that never stopped at all. I just kept thinking that things would get better, but they never did. After 11 months, I went to a clinic and had the darn thing removed. ( we couldnt afford the doctor bill as my husband had lost his job and so our insurance was gone). The clinic was very sympathetic and schedule the removal right away. And the cost was not to bad. Within a few days after the removal my period had stopped, my mood lifted greatly, and I started to lose weight. I would not recommend the Implanon to my worst enemy! Good luck getting rid of that thing!

well went to another doctor, but in the same surgery, and he put me on some tablets to ease the bleeding and am having tests to see whats up, so a smear and swabs due, hope its nothing horrid as it may mean bf has been unfaithful but i dont see that happeneing somehow, lol. He is like sticky glue and only has eyes for me even when he is drunk, which is adorable if not a bit miffing sometimes. am just hapy someone listened to me, i had something similar to begin with, heavy bleeds, but i was put on additional pill to level it out and it worked, in other ways the implanon has been great, no more migranes and mood swings seem to be ok, but periods and other stuff now are beyond a joke, doc simply said, ''they are great, but nothing is fool proof, i dont think this is the right contraceptive for you'' after a year, ifeel sad it didnt work, as more babies would push me over the edge lol, but relieved i can try something else, thinking that new coil! Thanks guys, nice to know other people suffer lol as bad as that sounds ladies xx
