Thread: Mirena IUD. Please Help Me!

Im 25 and never had kids.
I just got my Mirena IUD put in about an hour ago.
Im on the 4th day of my period and Didnt have any bleeding anymore (i have short periods)
The entire procedure was extremely painful i was crying and screaming the entire time.
When it was over my doctor ran away without telling me any side effects or whats normal and what isnt.
I got off the table and there was a huge puddle of blood on the floor and right now im bleeding like crazy with big blood clots coming out
I have spiky painful cramps on the right side of my uterus is this normal? how long will it last?? am i going to be okay??

I'm just curious as to how you came about deciding on taking Mirena? And if you have read any of the safety information that the packaging supplied to you. As far as i know it's normal to have cramping for the first few weeks and it can be uncomfortable while your body adjusts to the new object. I know they recommend this for women who have previously had kids so that is why i question your reasons for going on Mirena, it may not be the right fit for you but I do not know your lifestyle so I can only say wait it out for a few months and then see how you feel. Most people say it takes some time to adjust and usually up to the first year before people seem to be extremely happy with having it placed. Just make sure you go for a check up in the first 4 to 12 weeks after Mirena has been placed.
