I've been on the NuvaRing for over a year. I've never had any problems or side effects, save it slipping out during sex on occasion.

My period was due today; I've felt the telltale cramps, and there is light brownish discharge, but no full on period yet. Sometimes my period has been funny in the past- it's either there when I wake up in the morning, or it comes a little later in the day, early afternoon or so. This has never happened.

The last time I had sex was in May during my last period. Has anyone else experienced this, should I be worried?
