    Question Paragard menstrual cycles...

Ok so I'm just looking for some advice. About a month ago I had the paragard copper IUD inserted. I experienced the normal, awful cramping at insertion and the some for the next couple of days. Things were fine and about a week later I started heavy spotting (like almost another period). That lasted a few days and then went away. Things have been fine with a few instances of mild cramping. Then last week after a sexual encounter with my BF I got this awful awful pain in my lower abdomen. Worried it might be an ectopic pregnancy, I took a pregnancy test, came back negative. I knew my period should be starting soon, and this week I started getting cramping (like I always did when my period was near). However my period has been super light. I haven't had a natural period in years because I had always been on birth control, so I'm wondering if anyone has any advice to what is going on. I would think that if I were pregnant the test would have been positive. I'm due next week for my follow up with Dr. so any insight to help me rest at ease for the next few days.

I don't think anything you've written should be considered signs of pregnancy at this point... It's most probably your body getting used to the IUD, your cycle trying to find some normalcy, etc. Definitely ask your doctor all of these questions and more so you have all of the information.
