Irregular periods on the pill?
I have been on the pill for over a year, and always get my period on the 4th, 5th and 6th days of the last week in the pack. This was until two months ago (may).. in may and june I had a VERY light period that came the 5th and part of the 6th day. After i finished june's pack (on june 20th) I decided to stop taking the pill for a while to see if it made a difference. I was due for my period a few days ago..
The last time I had sex was in april, and I have taken a pregnancy test since then, and it came out negative.
Is there anything you all can think of that could be causing this?
Have any of you experienced irregular periods while on the pill?
I've noticed spotting while on the pill, in the form of period starting 4-7 days before the expected date, with light bleeding but not enough to fill a pad, then stopping for a few days and starting on the expected date. I saw my doctor last week and she told me this is common and nothing to worry about.
Did you ask your doctor about it before deciding to stop the pill to see if it makes a difference? Once you stop the pill it can take long before your period is normal again. I've stopped it twice and it was irregular for the first couple of months each time.
Use condoms now that you're off the pill.
