    Hi,

I am 15, and I would like to get rid of my periods. If I eat my contraception daily, will I get rid of it?

Me and my boyfriend we don't like when I have periods.

    Thank you for help.

It depends on the type of contraception you have. normally your pill will have it once a month, you can skip it though but its not advised it can do more harm than good, it depends what you have in mind

Sweetie, your period is part of what makes you a woman. You need to embrace it and come to love it. It connects you to the cycles of nature and the earth. It helps you monitor your stress levels and state of wellness. It reminds both of you that you are a woman, to be loved and desired exactly as you are. You hold within your body the regenerative power of childbirth.
At one time people held this in awe and rightly so. It is a huge responsibiilty and joy. Be mindful of it, note how your body responds to the cycles of the moon, how it changes.
    Love it and yourself.

Personally if I could get rid of them for good I would do it in a second. To completely get rid of them it would take a constant supply of birth control, and there is a few brands coming out soon (Lyrel or Anya) that is a hormonal variant that lasts 1 year...so one period a year, talk about doable. It may be on the market already not sure. There is also the brand Seasonale that offers the placebo pills once every 3 months (in this case 4 periods a year), again much easier to deal with. The only other option which is extremely drastic and should not be done unless children are out of the question is a complete hysterectomy. No doctor is going to do this to a healthy 15 year old so I would not even mention it to a physician. If I could, I would nail my period to a wall and shoot a few rounds at it before think of it as a gift from mother nature.

    LOL!!

Like everyone else said, unless you can find a pill or other form of contraceptive that will stop your periods for you, you will just have to grin and bear aunt flo. Its horrible, but we all have to deal with it.

You could try the depo provera injection. It doesn't stop periods for everyone.. some women still have spotting, and it can become irregular.. but in my case I haven't had a period in years - and no spotting.. however, like I said, it varies from woman to woman! And many women find that the hormones needed to stop a period cause intolerable side affects that are worse than just having your normal period... just be careful and mindful of what your body will allow!

There are a few pills out that at least limit your periods. Seasonique and seasonale have up to 91 day packets so no period for 3 months. I'm blanking the name of the one I tried which is similar. Also while it is slightly debated most agree that nuvarings don't drop off in effectiveness until the 5th week and can be used to skip periods without getting a special prescription from the doctor. You just leave it in for 4weeks instead of taking it out after the 3rd week. Prescriptions are to pick up a new one monthly so it can be done continously. However it is best to discus this with your doctor. While it's not really harmful to skip your period a lot it can make it difficult to diagnose some health issues. If you are avoiding very heavy periods or other symptoms you may be masking an illness. Various other disorders can stop your periods all together and again you'll be masking that problem if you never allow yourself to have a period.

And how about if I eat my contraception daily without any break? Would that make the periods disappear?
