Hey girls!
I'm looking to go on birth control but I really don't know which kind I want to go on. There is the pill, the patch, the ring or the injections. What do you prefer? What are the good and the bad of each contraceptive? Also if you know the prices, that would be super helpful as well. How should I go about telling my mom I want birth control? She already knows I'm sexually active but I really don't know what to say!
Thank you!
I would do your research on the pros and cons for each one and figure out what you can handle.
I'm anti depo (severely bad experience) but pro low dose pill, similar to Nordette, but that is my experience. Others have loved the shot. Many speak highly of IUD's.
Cost depends on several factors, generic vs name brand, insurance benefit vs self pay, low cost clinic vs Dr's office, etc.
If your mom knows you are sexually active, she probably is expecting this at some point and probably welcomes it. Just approach it from the point that you want to protect yourself and boyfriend against an unwanted pregnancy so you feel that you should start seriously exploring BC options and would welcome any input she has as well.
Friendship Prayer
May the fleas of a thousand camels infest the crotch of the person who screws up your day and may their arms be too short to scratch.
Amen
Whoever said anything was possible obviously never tried slamming a revolving door.
