I have a very complicated situation, and I know this can easily be resolved by just getting a pregnancy test, although I figured I can get some opinions online at the moment.
Time frame: 6 weeks
1. I am on birth control / anti-androgen pills (2mg cyproterone acetate and 35mcg ethinyl estradiol). I have been on it for more than a year. Since, I'm trying to control my breakouts, I usually take it for three months straight. I only take a break for seven days.
2. On the first week of July, I realized I had been taking the pill for more than three months already. Since I also kept missing a pill (i.e., I would end up taking two pills the following day), I was already experiencing premature / breakthrough bleeding.
[WEEK 1] I stopped for my one week break and my period finally came on. (Prior to my seven-day break, I was sexually active. I was having sex without condoms at least once a week. During my seven-day break, I did not engage in ANY sexual activity. My partner always withdrew successfully before ejaculation.)
3. [WEEK 2 & 3] After my one-week break, I resumed my pill intake. My period stopped for two days or three. The stress, lack of sleep, work, and graduate school would sometimes lead me to miss my pills on the first two weeks. There were times when I would miss the pill for two straight days, so I would only end up drinking two pills every other day. Bleeding resumed after those few days---sometimes it was light, sometimes it was a bit heavy. It was usually dark brown. (During this time, I was sexually active. I was having sex without condoms once, perhaps, twice a week. My partner always withdrew successfully before ejaculation.
[WEEK 4] Although before #4 happened, there was also at least one week where I had no sexual intercourse at all.)
4. [WEEK 5 & 6] For the past two weeks, I have been taking my pills as regularly as I could. Okay, I've missed one day for each week, but I've made up for it by taking two pills the following day immediately. On two or three random days, I've even taken two pills. I'm still bleeding (lightly), and it has not stopped since. (Actually, there were a total of three days spread throughout the month of August where I may have "stopped" bleeding, although that could have been because I didn't notice it, because the discharge happened while I was in the bathroom.) For this particular time frame of two weeks, I've had sex without condoms thrice or perhaps four times. My partner always withdrew successfully before ejaculation.
-----
Basically, I have been bleeding for six weeks. (It could be seven weeks if I count the breakthrough bleeding before my seven-day pill break.) Although for the past three or four weeks, the (brown) bleeding has been light to medium. On most days, the flow was "liquid." There was, however, a day last week where the blood also had several tiny shreds of "membrane-like" stuff in it.
NOTE: I do not have morning sickness or nausea of any kind. I do not experience cramping or backaches. I do not have food cravings, and my eating habits have stayed the same. My breasts are neither sore nor swollen.
I hope someone responds. Thanks.
