you should be able to start tonight without a problem... the pills will last you 3 weeks anyway no matter when you start...
Hi! I'm completely new to the use of birthcontrol, and am hoping someone can help me answer these questions that I have.
I was just prescribed to Yasmin two days ago, and my question is that I'm not sure when I'm supposed to start? You'd think I'd have asked my doctor, but at the time I don't think I could have remembered anything outside of my name, phone number and address (It was a slightly nerve-wrecking situation for me, but that's besides the point!)
I didn't think anything of it til I got home, so I figured the little booklet given to me would tell me when I should start. It does, but the problem is I'm slightly confused. It says that for the first pack, it doesn't matter when I start, so long as I take one pill a day at the same time, but then RIGHT underneath it, it says: "Day one starters: Start on the same day as the first day of your period" I just finished my period the same day that I was prescribed the pills. >.> Does this mean I should wait until next month to start? Or is it alright for me to start tonight?
Also, is there a difference between Yaz and Yasmin? People seem to use it interchangeably, and I'm not sure if there is a difference.

Yaz and Yasmin are supposedly the same thing, as told by my doctor and some medical book thing. I stick to just one of them to be sure though.
I think it's ok to start as soon as possible, and just wait til u finish the package to have sex.. better be safe.. or you can call your doc again just to make sure?![]()
