Well, for starters, im quite new here. I was talking to my mom and she told me about this site and how it would be helpful for any questions that i may want to ask but be too shy about.
yes, im young. still in high school.

so about birth control... ive thought about trying it. my mom says that it will help regulate my periods [whether or not this is true... idk]. I live with my father.. and im afraid to ask him to take me to the doctor to get put on it [or however it works]. and if i tell my stepmother anything.. it will just go back to him and ill get screamed at and feel like i did something wrong or he will accuse me of having sex [which isnt exactly what i want, but id rather be safe than sorry].

    any suggestions?

if you feel uncomfortable talking with your father or step mother, i would say to tell them that there's something you feel that you need your mother to help you with. i mean after all, she is a woman in your family that you feel comfortable with talking about this situation with.

and, birth control totally does help regulate periods. i would have to say that i am without it now and to be honest, i feel scared because i don't have anything. having things regulated with your body is really helpful, especially with something like periods. i'm trying to decide what kind of birth control i want to get back to using..haha. good luck with yours
