So I have just recently started Loestrin 24 i'll be finishing my pack today. But before I started the BC my doctor made me take a pregnacy test even though i was not sexual active but then 2 days later i had sex and thats the only time I have, we used a condom and he didnt come inside me and i got my period a couple weeks later, so i started my BC. My 2 best friends have also once been on the same BC and they told me that it really did bring shorter lighter periods but it didnt during the 1st month...well i think i just recently had my 1st period since being on the pill; I started it yesterday morning I usually have a heavy flow and it was only like spotting and my period was already pretty short like 3 or 4 days but when i woke up this morning all that was there was a lile brownish spotting and i havent had anything else since. I dont know if this is normal and I dont know who to ask. Please someone help

It's pretty common for birth control to mess with your menstrual flow, especially the first 2-3 months. It sounds like your body is just adjusting. It also looks like Loestrin is designed to cause shorter, lighter periods, so since yours was already pretty short it might cause some -very- short periods in your case. Give it the rest of the week. I'm assuming the 24-pack allows for a week of placebos or no pills at all to induce your period? When I was on the pill I never started bleeding until at least a full day after I hit the end of the hormone pills and started taking the placeholder/placebos. Also keep in mind that everyone has a different reaction to birth control and that just because your friends didn't react to the first month the same way you are doesn't mean it's a sign of something going wrong.

Since you used a condom and he didn't come inside, you should be pretty safe from pregnancy but if you are still worried you can go back to your doctor or get a home pregnancy test and follow the instructions closely. Keep in mind that it might be too soon to test accurately, and that a lot of women spot through their first few cycles on the pill, so it's not uncommon to have pregnancy scares early on, until you get used to how your body reacts to the hormone cycles.
