Your body is adjusting to the changes in hormone levels.
Consider what your period is. It is the shedding of the uterine lining, which was a preparation in case conception occured.
You stopped taking the pill and your body shed that lining. Until a new lining has formed and conception has not occured after ovulation, it hasn't got anything to shed. It may be a couple of months until your body restablishes it's normal rhythm based on your hormones rather than the hormones from the pill.
I developed problems with clotting when I was in my 20s and was told I could never take the pill again - its just too risky. You will have to look at other options. Take care of yourself dear one.

And yes, as WC said, your body needs time to adjust. What happened to you after you stopped taking the pill is totally normal.
