    Hi all,

Not sure which category to post this under..

I am new here and have been searching on the net for help.

I came of bc 5 weeks ago and had the fake pill period, in the middle of my cycle I had spotting.

I was due for AF 1 week ago - nothing. Then on Tuesday this week (exactly 1 week later) I started getting dark patchy spotting... and I've had that on and off for 2 days.

I went to the dr, had the blood tests done for pre-natal, and all is good (not hormonal just vitamins, rubella etc). Now my question is, what is this, is this a "fake" period or could it be just a funny first period?

I had terrible cramps on Monday night, which felt like my old period cramps. It just doesn't seem right though, the colour and the spotting.

I have had pregnancy tests and I'm not pregnant.

Anyone know what I am talking about?

I have been on bc 8 years, and I am now 27 years old. Hubby and I are very ready for baby #1 but I have no idea what my body is doing.

    Thanks so much!

It takes your body almost 3mnts to "recover" from birth control use. Everytime i went off the pill, id get spotting or a actual period. To get pregnant you usally need regular periods, it doesnt sound like there is anything wrong with you, you basically just need to wait till the hormones are gone from your system. Birth control messes up your system, i am almost postive thats what up with you. What did your dr say? because you did say you went to the dr....

Well my dr said that what I am having right now could be a light period, or an implantation, or withdrawal bleed. She wasn't sure herself, she kept saying to me "I was on bc for 13 years and fell pregnant the first time we had sex". But then I have read about SO many people having the hardest time conceiving after bc.

Does this sound like a period to you? I mean my normal periods weren't like this (before bc) but then that was over 8 years ago. I have no idea what is going on with my body.

    Have you had this?

PS. I've been told to use Vitex and Dong quai. Not sure if anyone has used those, they're meant to help you get your body back to normal after bc.

Well after I used vitex within 1 day I had these terrible period cramps and got that light period I was saying earlier. Not sure if I can fully put it down to Vitex... but at the same not sure if it was going to come anyway...

did you experience the same sort of thing? It's probably too early to judge after 1 month off the pill...

I've heard of alot of women getting pregnant too soon after going off the pill and many end up miscarrying very early on. I don't think you necessarily need to take anything to get your body back to normal, your body will do that on it's own with some patience. If it were me, I'd give myself 3-6 months off the pill to give your body a chance to get back on a normal cycle, then try for the baby making.
