Ok, How to start. I am 18 years old & I had never had sex until November 17 with my current serious boyfriend. I do not take birth control but we did use Durex Ultra Sensitive Latex Condoms and I was on the fifth day of my period. The first time was quick and as soon as he came he pulled out and checked to see if it had ripped or teared. He says everything was fine, so he took that one off and put on another one. We went at it once more and when he came he did not continue to thrust but stayed inside for about a min or two, and then pulled out and check if it was ripped or teared and said everything was fine this time around too. I was fine for the first day afterwards and I didn't freak out. I had really enjoyed it, & I was glad I had though long and hard about it. But knowing me starting last night my mind started thinking about all the possibilities even though he keeps telling me I should relax & to make sure that there wasn't even a minimal chance of I being pregnant I went to the pharmacy & purchased Plan B One Step 1.5mg. I took it with a glass of milk and a sandwich and feel fine right now. That was one hour ago. I just want to what others think about this situation. Does anyone think I might be pregnant? Or am I just torturing myself?

Please help me out, & give me some feedback. Any advice is great ! Thank you.

You are torturing yourself. Just because you have sex does not automatically mean you will get pregnant. Being on your period already makes it less favorable for conception, that being said it is not impossible. Condoms also do not 100% prevent pregnancy. Since you took Plan B within the 72 hr time limit it will work just as it is supposed to. Just letting you know Plan B can make you feel like garbage for a couple days, some women throw up get dizzy get tired etc. So no you are not likely pregnant if suddenly you feel like you got hit by a bus. It is all on the list of possible side effects on the package of the Plan B you bought.

    Completely torturing yourself....

Also, Plan B will more than likely wreck havoc on your cycles for a couple of months.

My advice, if you feel you may take Plan B every time after you have sex (which you shouldn't) because your mind starts to wonder and you start to freak, go in and get on a more permanent form of BC. Sex should be enjoyable and fun, you shouldn't be worrying like this AFTER it because eventually you may just end up not wanting to have sex anymore because you don't want to deal with the worries.

Thanks It'sASecret. Your the first person who takes the time to explain it to me. Makes me feel better, knowing the possibilities are impossible especially after Plan B in the time limit. I still worry, but my boyfriend is very caring and supportive.

It means it is unpredictable. Plan B or any other form of emergency contraceptive contains about 3 times the dose of progesterone-like compound that is in regular birth control. This massive influx causes the rest of your body to take more time to seeing it all there. Periods may not happen, may happen for a long time, may come and go. There is no set standard for what can happen so people say "it can wreak havoc".

The thing is Plan B IS NOT a regular form of birth control. The concentration of hormones is far greater in Plan B. Some women take it, then freak out because they don't get there period when they are supposed to, sometimes for a couple of month. They have all these horrid symptoms that are also similar to pregnancy, too. Just remember, Plan B is emergency contraception, not meant to be taken whenever you have sex. If you are using condoms correctly and at the right point in your cycle, there should be no need for it or, like I suggested above, go talk to a Dr or a Planned Parenthood office and get on a more permanent/reliable form of birth control.

Remember sex is ENJOYABLE, not stressful.

Well as long as I took the minimal chance of anything occurring I'm pretty satisfied. What I will do is that in about 19 days I'll take a Home Pregnancy Test. It should come out negative. I just wish I could enjoy the act of love more than worrying about it.

Well I took Plan B for the first time just to make sure this time. I wanted to not have to worry about any possibility. & I also already explained to my boyfriend that no more until I learn to relax and enjoy sex more instead of worrying about it all the time.

The test will come back negative as it takes longer than a couple of days to build up the correct amount of hormone that the test tests for if you are indeed pregnant. Missing your period is a time to consider HPT otherwise all you are doing is reinforcing your worry by continually trying to find a reason that you may be pregnant.
