Hi! First time poster here.I had a crazy question about loestrin fe 24. Since I started back up on Loestrin in March, I haven't had a period. I've had phantom periods - where I have the symptoms (cramps, PMS, back pain) but no actual bleeding. I've read that this is common and I shouldn't be too concerned with it.
My question is regarding the cycle of pills. There are 4 blank pills at the end of the pack instead of the normal 7. Two months ago, I somehow forgot to take the last active pill in the pack (the last white one before the string of 4 brown ones). I bought my new pack of pills and started them on the correct day and went for the first week in that month just like normal. One day I was cleaning out the bathroom and found the pack of pills from the previous month with the 1 active white pill.
Now, this happened 2 packs ago - have I messed up my BC rhythm? I had sex for the first time without a condom since this happened a few days ago. Should I be concerned about pregnancy? Or do you think that after 2 months of taking pills at the correct time, my body has sorted itself out? I don't have periods on this stuff so I can't really use that to judge...
Thanks for your help!
I think if you've been taking them now for 2 months correctly, not missing a pill, then you should be totally fine. Lets say you missed todays pill totally and didnt' make it up the next day, then you would want to use extra protection for the remainder of this cycle, and then if it were ME, to be safe, I'd use protection for the following month and then be good to go.
The phantom periods are normal with Loestrin. I remember having them. I hated it...there would be sometimes 2 weeks out of a month I'd FEEL like I might be getting ready to start. And then of course the worry of "Hmm, what if I AM pregnant?" so I spent several dollars on pregnancy tests. I lost a lot of hair on this particular BC.......so watch out for that too. I was EXTREMELY moody on it as well.
