Default Loestrin 24 ~ Adjusting the date of my period?

    Hi,

I have been on Loestrin 24 for about 10 months - and all has gone smoothly. I'm sure this sounds silly but I really don't want to have my period on the date it's scheduled for this month.

I was thinking the other day... what if I started taking the brown/placebo pills two days early and then at the end of the brown pills, went back and took the 2 real pills and then started the new pack....so my period would come 2 days earlier this month....but when i start the new pack I'd have 26 days in a row with hormone pills.

Advice! Do you think this will work? Is it safe? Should I just not be messing around like this? I have never taken my pills off schedule but I have heard of other people (on various meds) switch things up to reschedule their period.....some skip the placebo pills totally and have 2 months straight with hormone pills - I just worry that its not healthy which is how I came up with my crazy plan.

    Thanks in advance

It is not a good idea to just be deciding I will take this pill today but not that type tomorrow then go back to the regular one and so on. The most common way to stop a period from coming in a cycle is to skip the placebos altogether and just start a new pack of bc right after you finish the active pills in the prior month. So like you said 2 months straight of active pills. The only reason the placebos are there are to give a woman that peace of mind of having a period, and to keep with the routine of taking something at the same time everyday. The placebo pills themselves contain nothing, they are sugar based and are not "keeping you regular" compared to the active pills which are the part that keeps everything regular. If you cannot get in to see your doctor to ask the question you could simply go to your pharmacist and ask.
