I am 4 months post-partum and resumed taking the pill 6 weeks after having my son. Since then, my periods come in the middle of my pack, and sometimes only two weeks apart. They do not at all correlate with the iron pills at the end of the pack. Prior to this I had been on birth control for ten years and never had an issue with early periods or irregular bleeding.
So here's my question: I take the pills on time, every day. I've never missed one. But still I get the early bleeding. Does the bleeding indicate that the birth control is not working...that I'm not protected from pregnancy? We have been using condoms every time just in case. But I'm wondering if I am actually protected from pregnancy and we could go sans condom.
I also have an appt. with my doctor on 12/29.
