So for the past week or more I have had light spotting, when I wipe after peeing, there's blood there and when put in a tampon there has been just a little blood through the day, anyways.. its been going on all week and I am on my last week of blue pills and skipped my last period. I have also had some light cramping along with it. I have had spotting in the past here and there this last year and never before this. have been on Tri sprintec for years. I guess I have been taking my pill not at the EXACT time each night lately cuz i have been on a different schedule , would that play part? I also had unprotected sex about 3 weeks ago or longer with a guy. yes stupid but thought it was safe, now that has me worried. Also, this is unrelated but still curious about it cuz when you goto doctors they never give you a straight answer about anything, I have been on antidepressants in the past and anxiety pills , probably about 5 years ago, stopped taking them probably 4 years ago cuz i didnt like the side effects and didnt feel it was working. But I get REALLY moody a week or 2 before my period. Do you think i have a hormone imbalance??? would my birth control effect this??? My sister has poly cystic and has a hormone imbalance herself. WHATS WRONG WITH ME??? ugh. i hate it. i get moody.. irritable.. sad.. lonely.. depressed.. y. please help! thanks!
You sound pretty normal to me.The pill can be very unpredictable. One month you may have normal period, no spotting, physical pms but no emotional pms. Then the next month you may have no period, spotting for weeks, no physical pms but be an emotional basketcase. If you're taking your pill EVERY day at even around the same time, if you are NOT taking any antibiotics or other meds that could interfere with your pill, then you are most likely not pregnant. However, go grab a cheap HPT and ease your mind.
When I was on the pill I would get incredibly moody and unstable feeling a week , sometimes two full weeks before my period. I remember how awful that was, and how crazy I felt. I've been off the pill now for almost a year, and I do still experience some mild pms a week before, but nothing like when I was on the pill. And I also NEVER have spotting now....I have a normal period and that's it. I just feel tremendously better overall.
Talk to your obgyn. Get your hormone levels checked, including thyroid. Just tell her/him you need to do this to ease your mind because you're feeling very much unlike yourself. most likely, your levels will be fine and your doc will suggest switching your pill. Just because a pill works for you for a while doesn't mean it always will.
