I got the Copper IUD November 19th, then started my period on November 21st. Before getting the copper IUD I was having safe sex with a condom. then December 17, Had unprotected sex with my partner. During the course of the sex I felt sharp pain in my pelvic region and immediately began bleeding. I bled for several hours. My period was due somewhere around December 19-22, or so I thought. We have not had sex since that day and my period has not come yet. So, it's been around 27 days since December 17th. I have had moderate to severe cramping since the new year. The first 5 days my stomach was severely bloated and it hurt to stand up as the cramps got worse. I am still cramping and having some pain in my cervix, it's hard to describe but that pain, but almost feels like the IUD is trying to come out, however the entire thing feels very much like PMS, but still no period. I am not having any pregnancy symptoms (breast are not sore, i'm not feeling sick, no weight gain, nipples aren't sore, basically I feel the same) and when I check for the IUD string, it's still there. Last week I did go to Planned Parenthood as I was concerned about the cramping and they did a PG test which came back negative. they told me I am most likely not pregnant and it could be my body trying to adjust to having the iud. I have noticed an increase in vaginal discharge, but I was told and read that was part of the side effects. I am thinking of waiting till Friday to do another PG test, but really don't want to waste money and can't afford (literally) to go to the ER or see a gynocologist. Any opinions? Thanks

well, I took a home test today - spent a little more on a digital reader, it came out negative. Maybe it is just my body trying to get used to it. Sure sucks though.
