Thread: IUD+Blood=??

Ok so I've had Mirena for a little over a year now and yesterday for some reason, I started bleeding. It hasn't stopped and I'm afraid that it might be something serious. I am sexually active and because of being on Mirena, we don't use protection. I can't say that I know for sure if I'm pregnant or not (I have not checked) but I have a good feeling that I'm not (womanly instinct right? Of course that doesn't disregard the fact that I should probably check anyway, but anyway...*rolleyes*) I had an appointment about 8 months ago and it was a follow-up appointment. One of my routine pap smears came in abnormal and they concluded that HPV cells might have started to grow. O.O Due to lack of insurance and money to pay for these services (*sadface* ARGH!! I HATE healthcare... I'm 23 and can't afford it unfortunately... ) I wasn't able to go to the follow-up appointment to get the "oscopy" ( I forgot what it's called exactly-they clip off a tiny piece of your cervix and test it)... I've been slightly crampy now and then but for the most part, all is well. Any ideas of what it might be? Feel free to ask me questions! We're all women here! No shame!

if you are experiencing pain along with the bleeding then maybe it would be wise to see the gynecologist. How long have you been bleeding?
