    Hey all,

I'm booked to get a contraceptive patch fitted and prescribed tomorrow. I have read on the internet about risk of blood clots and strokes, and the patch being "3 times as dangerous" as the modern pill and "3 times more likely" to produce a blood clot.

    How true is this?

I went to my doctor today and told her of my concerns, and she said that I shouldn't believe "the internet" and that if birth control products where killing/permanently endangering a vast majority, they would be sued to death...

Help clear this up! I'm getting it fit tomorrow, how safe is it?

I've been on the patch for 3 years with no problems. My doctor explained to me that i had no other risks of heart attack or stroke so i would be fine. Everyone is different and my doctor also explained that if my general health was at risk it wouldn't be prescribed to me. It really is a great method if it's right for you.
