I'm 27, been on the pill for about 8 years - non stop. For about the last 4-5 months, i've been having light breakthrough bleeding. -Do I need to switch birth control to stop this?
My second question is, is it possible for me to get pregnant, if I have sex while I am having the breakthrough bleeding on the pill?
Thanks for your input!
If you are still taking the pill the same time every day you should not get pregnant. However it would be a good idea to make sure pregnancy is not the cause of the breakthrough bleeding. After that I'd see a doctor to discuss trying other birth control. There are dozens of minor things that could have changed and made that particular pill no longer the best for you.
