When I first started birth control pills, I started getting bad side effects... because I wanted to continue having hormone pills as my birth control method, my ob/gyn prescribed me a lower dosage hormone pill (and a different brand).
The side effect has been reduced a whole lot, but I'm just wondering - does the fact that it has less amount of hormones make the pills any less effective?? Is that a cause for concern if I'm worried about getting pregnant?
It depends. If your doctor has prescribed you the minipill, which is a type that has no estrogen, then that one is somewhat less effective, partly because the time window for taking it is a lot less than for the regular pill.
A lower-dose regular pill may theoretically be less effective, but I doubt it would be by much.
