Default Continuous pill, one week break, no period

I've been on the pill for almost 5 years and recently my doctor suggested I try taking the pill continuously so I wouldn't have to get a period. She said that some women like to take the sugar pills every few months because it is reassuring to know that they still have a period and they aren't pregnant. She said I could take the pills continuously and then if I wanted to take a sugar pill break for a week, I could do that.

Well, I took two packages of pills continuously, no problems with bleeding or anything. Now I've decided to take a "sugar pill break" for a week, and I have no period! I normally get it the exact same time (give or take a few hours). It has been two days since it should have come, and still nothing.

Has anyone here had a similar experience? Is my body just messed up from taking the pill continuously?

There are more than 2 pills in the placebo sugar pills so you are not completely through them. Give it time. It can take maybe 3 or 4 sugar pills to start up a period just because that is how your body decided to follow through with it's physiology for that particular period. It could also of course mean pregnancy, but again give your body some time to see if your period will come. If it does not come at any point in the entire time you take the placebos then maybe try out a pregnancy test.

Yeah, I usually get it on the 4th day of sugar pills and now its the 6th, so that's why I'm starting to wonder.

You're probably not pregnant but like ItsAsecret said, if you won't get it at all before you start the new pack you can try a pregnancy test. It does take time for your body to adjust to the hormones.

You can also give your doctor a call for reassurance.
