    Default question regarding seasonique!

I've been on seasonique for two and a half months now, on week 10 I started spotting and tomorrow I'm supposed to start week 12 and I'm still spotting. I called my doctor and he told me to take two pills for three days but this hasn't stopped it. Week twelve is the last week of blue active pills before my period on week 13. Should I just keep taking the blue ones? Will this happen again next month? When I start my new pack will I have to wait the 7 days before having unprotected sex? Thanks!

I have been taking seasonique for about three years now and I spotted once during the 3-month cycle. I got my period a week early and then did not get it while taking the yellow pills during the last week. My doctor said this was normal and not to worry. She said that if you ever miss taking a pill at the same time every day, even though you didn't miss any, just taking it at at different time could cause you to spot, even if you've been on the pills for a while. In my case, I usually take my pills at 8 but sometimes waited 'til around 9 or so, which was bad and caused this. I won't be doing that again!

I would say to use backup for the 7 days when starting a new pack. You can never be "too safe". My doctor always recommends that I do just in case. I do not think this will happen the next month because it did not happen in my case. That was a couple of packs ago for me and I have not had any more problems since.

I hope this helps a little- sorry if not!
