Hi everyone! i was on oral contraceptives and switched to injectables. iv been off birth control since 2010 August, i didnt have any periods till December. The past two months my periods have been irregular, usualy my cycles is 28 days and now its about 32-26 days. I think it might be hormonal imbalance.
Do you know anything that can help get my hormones back to normal? Im also trying for a baby and im frustrated.
    Thanx

Your body will determine when it wants to have a baby. You can try the whole route of buying books that say "just check the day you ovulate" and have sex then. You can ask a doctor for their opinion on pregnancy after being off the pill but they are likely going to say because you were on the pill and now your body is weaning itself off of it there is no way to predict how things will turn out.

As for the periods they are going to be irregular after coming off the pill. How long no one will know as every single woman is different. You could go to the doctor and ask their opinion on that though, maybe get a blood test to see how things are.

I don't know of anything you could really do, with the exception of getting back on birth control, that would force your body back to your previous cycle length, but of course that doesn't help any when you're trying to have a baby. :-)

The difference of 6 days doesn't sound like a significant enough variance in your cycle to worry me. It sounds like things are just starting to get themselves back in order after being on contraceptives. It doesn't sound like you have an issue with hormone imbalance that would cause problems with conceiving. If you want to see what your cycles are doing I would suggest looking into fertility charting and sign tracking. If you find you aren't ovulating or something like that it would be an issue, but a 26-32 day cycle is a very healthy cycle length for a lot of women(very few women actually experience a textbook consistent 28 day cycle).

If it really is bothering you though you can always make an appointment to discuss your concerns with your doctor and see what they have to say.

    Good luck. :-)

Thanx Fortuns, i really hope things are getting in order. iv seen a gynaecologist in January and said it would take about 9 months to conceive after stopping contraceptives. il look into fertility charting. Do you know if ders tests a doctor can do to check if im ovulating or not?
