Thread: I need answers right awayyy please BIRTH CONTROL. help!?

i started loestrin a few months ago, i think im on my 3rd pack my first pack i spotted alot, then i got my period and the second pack i was okay no problems, now with my third pack i was fine i got my period last weekend, i was fine for a week and now i got it again on monday night and im still bleeding. i have prom in 2 weeks and i dont want my period... HELP i dont know what to do. should i stop the pills this sunday? and ill just get my period regularly and get it for 7 days?? and then after prom maybe start it up again?

It's very common to have irregular periods and spotting during your first couple months on the pill. When I was on the pill, I'd wait 3 months or so after starting a new pill and if I was still having really bad effects, I'd switch to a new one and go through it all over again, hoping that one would be better.

Going on and off the pill is a bad idea. I know prom is important, but there is no reason your period should stop you from enjoying your prom. There is no rule that says you have to have sex on your prom night.

Just understand that if you do stop taking your pill, you are NOT protected from pregnancy. And if you stop the pill, then start it right back again, you'll spend the next couple months adjusting again which is a definite sex life killer.

I'm not a fan of the birth control pill....but I do have 10 years experience taking it. Take my word for it.
